Chemical Cleaning is a complex operation which should be carried out on a regular basis. However, this is rarely the case and most power plant owners only find out that chemical cleaning is required after a boiler tube failure. Accountants define chemical cleaning as a “distress purchase”. The event is not planned or budgeted for, the plant is off and generating no income and nobody wishes to take charge of the cleaning operations. Nobody has any knowledge of what chemical cleaning involves, what are the cleaning contractors requirements and, nowadays, how is the chemical cleaning effluent going to be stored and disposed. By attending a Chemical Cleaning Training course, the participants should:- • Understand what chemical cleaning involves
• What information is required to plan a chemical clean
• How to choose a chemical cleaning contractor
• Time line for chemical cleaning
• Estimate storage space required for chemicals, storage tanks, chemical cleaning equipment.
• Interaction between contractor and power plant management.
• Permit & effluent disposal notifications required
